Beatrix Brass is going to investigate if they can buy new trumpets in the upcoming period. Playing on trumpets gives a different sound than the cornets that are used now. After 20 years of intensive use, the cornets need to be replaced. During the summer break John and Harald visited Adams to see what is on the market. No decisions have been made yet and we are making a financial plan.
We welcome a new bassist, Timo Houtman. After playing at Beatrix’ he has now joined Beatrix Brass as bassist to keep exercising his musical talent. Because of this some other players have also moved instruments. Harald has given his bass to Timo and Harald will from now on play euphonium. With two basses and baritones baritones/euphoniums the proportions are optimal.
There are still a few concerts planned in September and November. After two months of vacation it is time to rehearse our pieces again so we can play them at an acceptable level.
The music committee has started selecting a few new tracks to add to the repertoire. I’m excited!
