An enormous pile of ideas is discussed and researched, thoughts are discarded or mutilated, lessons are learned, assumptions for the new season are made and the strengths and weaknesses of every part of the organization are discussed. It is only after many evenings of brainstorm sessions that this group of creative minds with a broad experience comes to one single conclusion, solemnly nodding to each other at the end of the meeting.
After all these meetings, debates, emails and listening to lots of music, all members gather to see what next year’s program is going to be. Everybody is eager to receive their new drum parts, find out what colour the flags will be, learn what type of props are needed for this show and more. The entire groups is asked to be quiet for the presentation of the show that Beatrix' is going to bring in 2012. And then it is presented; not without a feeling of pride from the BPT members.
The moment is there, tension is high and here is comes….
-A single word-
Quickly the BPT team locks itself up in the meeting room again where the single word is quickly developed into visual concepts, song selections, information for designers and guidelines for arrangers.
And while the corps is rehearsing the arts and basics of music making, the arrangers discuss the newly written show and the new tones and rhythms of the amazing product that Beatrix' Drum & Bugle Corps will entertain the crowds with the coming season; careful at first but growing quickly and all there for you to enjoy.
Next week the members will learn the word that is the basis for the 2012 show.
This is how it all starts; now is the time. You can still join and be part of this process that starts in the mind of a small group of people, growing, with a lot of energy, into a show that will win the hearts of the crowds. The goose-bumps that you will experience along the way are unforgettable.
